Bull protects London’s new thriving business destination

Bull Products, a manufacturer of life-saving fire protection equipment, is supplying its renowned Cygnus wireless alarm systems to International Quarter London – London’s new home for modern business.

International Quarter London (IQL) is a new neighbourhood that will comprise of commercial, residential, retail and community spaces in the heart of Stratford.

It will provide local businesses, organisations, residents and visitors with the opportunity to connect through new public spaces and connections to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Bull has been contracted to supply its Cygnus alarm devices during work on site from now until 2025. A major innovation in wireless emergency fire, first aid, and intruder alarms for construction sites, the Cygnus radio fire alarm system has been designed for specific use on construction sites where changing site conditions and environments demand a far higher performance from the radio than those found in standard wireless fire alarm systems.

The systems on site include over 70 Cygnus Alarms, the Control Panel and several Interface Units which have been designed for interfacing with other fire systems and turnstile gate entry systems. In the case of an alarm activation, the interface will trigger the door release and will deactivate the turnstile so a quick evacuation can be made to the assembly point.

Matthew Trigwell, Sales Director at Bull Products, says: “There are several elements to this project including the development of a 20-storey office space, therefore it’s crucial that the site has a flexible alarm system in place to protect workers during all of the construction phases.

“To be a part of such a large-scale development in London is a huge achievement for Bull and we’re excited to see the alarm systems in place as the project develops.”
