Collab Group hold event for national roll out of Bridge into Construction programme

Collab Group recently held a national rollout event for its innovative Bridge into Construction programme. The event was held at Birmingham Metropolitan College on 9th October 2018. The event was attended by almost 70 delegates who joined to celebrate the success of the programme to date and look forward to the full national roll out of the programme in this new academic year.

11 colleges are involved in the national roll out with 69 learners currently enrolled onto the programme. The ambition is for over 150 learners to complete the programme over the course of the current academic year with an ambition for 1,000 learners to complete the programme over the next five years.

Delegates at the event heard from key note speakers including Rebecca Hayes, Executive Director at BMet college and Ian Pretty Chief Executive of Collab Group. Delegates were given the opportunity to network with the colleges delivering the programme and were also given a tour of the facilities in the engineering and construction department at BMet’s James Watt Campus. Overall the day proved a great opportunity for employers to better understand how the Bridge into Construction programme can support them to get new talent into their business.

The Bridge into Construction programme is a flexible talent engagement programme showcasing the full breadth of careers in construction. It gives all participants the opportunity to be informed, accredited and work-ready. The programme is endorsed by construction employers and available at colleges nationwide. The programme allows learners to experience all phases of a construction project from the tendering stage, through to design, construction and post-construction.
