Record breaking A14 milestone by Mick George

The video below is footage of a ‘record breaking’ concrete pour for Section 2 – Buckden Road Bridge on the A14 Highway Improvement Scheme.

The footage represents the largest single pour made on this section of the project to date.

710m3 of Concrete was supplied by Mick George to form the first half of the bridge deck, with the second half of the pour scheduled for next week. In its entirety, 1,500m3 of Concrete will be supplied, equating to 2,800 tonnes of aggregates, and 16 trucks completing 180 dedicated, restricted distance movements from the onsite and nearby batching plants, in just 12-hours.

The A14 improvement scheme is a 21-mile highway stretching between Cambridge to Huntingdon, managed by the A14 Integrated Delivery Team (IDT), a joint venture between Costain, Skanska, Balfour Beatty, Atkins/Ch2M and their supply chain partners.
